The objective of the present invention is to provide at least one of: a novel thermosetting resin composition which uses an epoxy compound; a method for producing the novel thermosetting resin composition; a method for producing a novel cured resin product, which uses an epoxy compound; and a novel method for causing self-polymerization of an epoxy compound. This thermosetting resin composition contains an epoxy compound, a gallium compound and a silanol source compound. This method for producing a thermosetting resin composition comprises a step for mixing an epoxy resin with a gallium compound and a silanol source compound. This method for producing a cured resin product comprises a step for heating an epoxy compound in the presence of a gallium compound and silanol. A method for causing self-polymerization of an epoxy compound is characterized by using a gallium compound and silanol as catalysts.
