Abstract:
A thick-walled electric-resistance-welded steel pipe which has a low Y/T that prevents buckling when the steel pipe is deformed by bending and straightening and which further has excellent low-temperature toughness. The steel pipe is characterized by having a wall thickness/outer diameter ratio of 4.0-7.0%, containing, in terms of mass%, 0.06-0.15% C, 1.00-1.65% Mn, and 0.005-0.030% Nb, and having a value of Ceq ([C]+[Mn]/6+([Cr]+[Mo]+[V])/5+([Ni]+[Cu])/15) of 0.32-0.43. The steel pipe is further characterized in that the metallographic structure contains polygonal ferrite in an areal proportion of 50-92%, the polygonal ferrite having an average grain diameter of 15 µm or smaller, and that the seam part thereof has a hardness Hv of 160-240 and has a structure comprising fine-grain ferrite and pearlite or comprising bainite. [C], [Mn], [Cr], [Mo], [V], [Ni], and [Cu] are the contents [mass%] of C, Mn, Cr, Mo, V, Ni, and Cu, respectively.
