Abstract:
The present invention relates to a threat-detecting system (3) for reactive armour (2), comprising an upstream armour plate (6) bearing an array of first piezoelectric sensors; a downstream armour plate (7) bearing an array of second piezoelectric sensors; a spacer (8) sandwiched between the upstream and downstream armour plates (6, 7); and an electronic detection circuit (9) configured to send a threat-detection signal depending on signals originating from the arrays of first and second piezoelectric sensors when the threat-detecting system (3) is detected to have received an impact from the side of the upstream armour plate (6). The present invention also relates to a threat-detecting method and to an associated reactive protection system.
