Abstract:
Provided is a three-dimensional object image scanner that can create a full circumference image that is suitable for the observation of the entire circumference of a three-dimensional object and that has less distortions. This three-dimensional object image scanner comprises: a rotational table; a scanner head having a telecentric lens system; a shifting means that shifts the scanner head; and a control device that processes the image data of a subject. The control device acquires multiple pieces of image data for which the rotation angles are different and which are sequentially outputted from the scanner head, while rotating the subject about the center axis with the scanner head located in such a manner that the central axis is in front of the telecentric lens system; detects, from among the multiple pieces of image data, pixel data for which the subject is focused; integrates the detected pixel data, thereby creating a rectangular image representative of the outward appearance of a portion of the subject that is desirably to be imaged; and converts the rectangular image to an annular fan image based on the upper surface dimension, bottom surface dimension and height dimension of the portion of the subject that is desirably to be imaged.
