Abstract:
A thrust magnetic bearing (50) is provided with a stator (59) having a coil (71), and with a rotor (51). The stator (59) has a primary stator magnetic pole surface (64) and a secondary stator magnetic pole surface (70). The rotor (51) has a primary rotor magnetic pole surface (52) which faces the primary stator magnetic pole surface (64), and a secondary rotor magnetic pole surface (58) which faces the secondary stator magnetic pole surface (70). When the rotor (51) is displaced in a radial direction, radial force acting on the rotor (51) between the primary stator magnetic pole surface (64) and the primary rotor magnetic pole surface (52) increases in the direction opposite the direction of the displacement. As a result, in the thrust magnetic bearing, the controllability of the radial position of the rotor is improved.
