A tidal power generation device comprises a base platform (7) provided above the sea level, and a generator and a transmission gear set fixed upon the base platform. The transmission gear set connects to a longitudinal transmission rod (6), and a buoyancy tank (3) is fixed on an end portion of the longitudinal transmission rod (6) located on the sea surface level. The transmission gear set connects to an energy storage mechanism (13), and the energy storage mechanism (13) is in transmission connection with a generator shaft. A tumbler gear transmission box (111) is formed by a driving gear (113) provided on a transmission main shaft (9), a transmission gear (112) and a tumbler gear (114) that are in transmission connection with the driving gear (113), and a change gear (12) in transmission connection with the transmission gear (112) and the tumbler gear (114). A transmission shaft of the tumbler gear transmission box (111) is provided with a clawed wheel mechanism (13), said clawed wheel mechanism (13) being in transmission connection with the energy storage mechanism (13). This tidal power generation device has the advantages of high power generation efficiency, continuous and uniform power generation, convenient installation, and a simple structure, and can be constructed on the sea level on a large scale, so as to provide clean energy for a user.
