Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a preferable tide barrier comprising a transparent plate disposed on the upper part of a dike, and a method for constructing the same, the tide barrier being constructible by simple work and enabling a significant reduction in on-site construction period. [Solution] A metal frame 20 having a substantially U-shaped cross-section is fixed to the upper part of a dike 2 with the inner space of the metal frame 20 opening upward. A lower edge part 10a of each transparent plate 10 and a dimension change member 33 that can change the dimension of each transparent plate 10 in the thickness direction are inserted into the metal frame 20. Each transparent plate 10 is fixed to the metal frame 20 by pressing the lower edge part 10a with the dimension change member 33. In the present invention, the metal frame 20 is installed on the upper part of the dike 2 by being fixed with an anchor bolt 3, for example.
