Title:
TILTING VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/119423
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This tilting vehicle, which is turned by causing a vehicle body to tilt, is constituted by: a plurality of wheels, including one or two front steered wheels; a handle that is operated in order to change the steering angle of the front steered wheel and the angle of inclination of the vehicle body when a rider performs a turning operation; a tilting device that changes the angle of inclination of the vehicle body during a turn; and a steering device that changes the steering angle of the steered wheel during a turn. In order to improve the controllability of the tilting vehicle during a turn, the tilting vehicle is configured so that, from a turning state in which gravity acting on the vehicle body and centrifugal force toward the outside of the turn are in equilibrium at a steering angle and an angle of inclination corresponding to the angle of the handle at the time of the turning operation by the rider, the tilting vehicle: controls the tilting device and the steering device so as to increase the lateral acceleration acting on the vehicle body to a lateral acceleration set on the basis of the velocity of the tilting vehicle; and, if there is a wheel for which a slip degree acquired by a slip degree acquisition unit has reached a reference slip degree for turning control set by a reference slip degree setting unit, controls a braking device so as to activate ABS for that wheel.
