Abstract:
A time of flight distance measurement system with an adjustable histogram comprises: an emitter (11) configured to emit a pulsed light beam (30); a collector (12) configured to collect photons in a pulsed light beam (40) reflected by an object to form photon signals; and a processing circuit (13) connected to the emitter (11) and the collector (12) and comprising a TDC circuit (321) and a histogram circuit (322), wherein the TDC circuit (321) is used to receive the photon signals, to calculate time intervals therebetween, and to convert the time intervals into time codes, and the histogram circuit (322) performs counting on the basis of the time codes using corresponding internal time units, and counts photons within all the time units after multiple measurement operations so as to draw a histogram. In the invention, an address of a time unit can be dynamically adjusted to dynamically adjust a temporal resolution and/or a width of a time bin of a histogram. Also provided is a time of flight distance measurement method providing an adjustable histogram.
