Abstract:
The present invention provides tin oxide particles that contain phosphorus element. The content of the phosphorus element in the tin oxide particles is 0.1% by mass to 1.2% by mass. The lattice strain of the tin oxide is 0.40% to 0.60%. The crystallite size of tin oxide is 4.0 nm to 6.3 nm. It is preferable that the BET specific surface area equivalent particle diameter is 11.0 nm to 17.0 nm. The tin oxide particles are suitable for the use as an antistatic agent. The tin oxide particles are preferably produced by: mixing an aqueous solution of a tin-containing compound with an acid, thereby producing an intermediate containing tin in the liquid; mixing a slurry that contains the intermediate with phosphoric acid or a salt thereof; removing the liquid content from the slurry after the mixing so as to obtain solid contents; and firing the solid contents.
