Abstract:
Provided are: a rubber composition for tires, that maintains or improves good elongation at break and low fuel consumption, prevents discoloration, and is capable of improving ozone resistance; and a pneumatic tire using same. The rubber composition for tires includes: a rubber component including at least one type selected from a group comprising a specific non-oil extended butadiene rubber and a specific oil extended butadiene rubber; a phenylenediamine-based antioxidant; a specific nonionic surfactant; and carbon black and/or silica. The diene-based rubber within per 100% by mass rubber component is 70%-100% by mass. The phenylenediamine-based antioxidant content with respect to 100 parts by mass rubber component is 1.0-8.0 parts by mass, the nonionic surfactant content is 0.1-5.0 parts by mass, and the combined carbon black and silica content is 20-45 parts by mass.
