Abstract:
In order to provide a method and device for distinguishing the type of a running tire from the side of a vehicle, when distinguishing a tire type, which is the type of tire, from the output of an acceleration sensor attached to the inner side of a tire tread of a tire mounted on a vehicle, a feature vector is extracted from the acceleration waveform detected from the output of the acceleration sensor and the tire type of the tire is distinguished, by a machine learning algorithm, from the extracted feature vector. The tire type is distinguished on the basis of the extracted feature vector and distinguishing models in which feature vectors obtained in advance for each tire type have been constructed as learning data.
