Title:
TITANIUM ALUMINIDE ALLOY MATERIAL FOR HOT FORGING, AND METHOD FOR FORGING TITANIUM ALUMINIDE ALLOY MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/189214
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This TiAl alloy material for hot forging has a chemical composition comprising, in terms of atomic ratio, 39.0% to 39.9% aluminum, 3.0% to 5.0% niobium, 3.0% to 4.0% vanadium, and 0.05% to 0.15% carbon, the remainder being titanium and unavoidable impurities. The TiAl alloy material may also optionally contain boron. In the present invention, the TiAl alloy material for hot forging is prepared and held at a temperature within the equilibrium temperature region of the β phase or the (β + α) phase in the TiAl alloy state diagram, and the TiAl alloy material is forged in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. The workability of the TiAl alloy material during hot forging is improved while the creep strength thereof is maintained, and high-speed forging of the TiAl alloy material is possible.
