Abstract:
A titanium material 1 which comprises an inner layer part 3 and a surface layer part 2 that is bonded to the inner layer part 3, and wherein: the surface layer part 2 has a chemical composition containing, in mass%, 0.4% or less of O, 0.5% or less of Fe and 0.020% or less of Cl with the balance made up of Ti and impurities; and the inner layer part 3 has a chemical composition containing, in mass%, 0.4% or less of O, 0.5% or less of Fe and more than 0.020% but 0.60% or less of Cl with the balance made up of Ti and impurities. The inner layer part 3 has voids, and the area ratio of the voids in the inner layer part 3 in a cross-section of the titanium material 1, said cross-section being perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the titanium material 1, is more than 0% but 30% or less. The Cl content (ClI) in the inner layer part 3, the thickness (tS) of the surface layer part 2 and the thickness (tI) of the inner layer part 3 satisfy (ClI ≤ 0.03 + 0.02 × tS/tI).
