Abstract:
This titanium material comprises: a base made of pure titanium or a titanium alloy; and a carbon layer that covers the surface of the base. The carbon layer contains non-graphitizing carbon, and also, in Raman spectroscopy using an argon laser of wavelength 532 nm, the R value (I1350/I1590) is 2.0-3.5 [inclusive]. However, I1350 is the peak intensity in the vicinity of wavelength 1.35 x 105m–1 in the Raman spectrum, and I1590 is the peak intensity in the vicinity of wavelength 1.59 x 105m–1 in the Raman spectrum. With this titanium material, it is possible to realize low contact resistance using a carbon layer. Also, this titanium material is not susceptible to surface oxidation progressing even if exposed to a noble potential, and it is possible to maintain low contact resistance.
