Description:
TOILET SEAT WITH HEATING FEATURE

Subject of the Invention

The subject of the invention relates to a toilet seat with heating feature.

State of the Art

The use of the toilet seats causes disturbance in the users due to the coldness of the used surface particularly during the winter months and such toilet seats fail to provide a comfortable use. In the currently used toilet seats that are manufactured from urea formaldehyde, a contact with the surface of the seat causes the user to feel a cold surface because of the high thermal conductivity coefficient of the urea formaldehyde.

Since the substances having a high thermal conductivity coefficient rapidly conduct the heat, the toilet seats manufactured with substances having a high thermal conductivity coefficient rapidly conduct the user's body heat to the toilet surface. Thus, when a user sits on a toilet seat, they perceive coldness in their body as a result of the rapid conduction of the heat in their body to the toilet surface. This sense of coldness causes greater disturbance in the users especially during the winter months.

A great deal of methods and products have been developed in an attempt to solve the mentioned problem. One of these is the heated pads/sitting cushions positioned on the toilet seats. However, the use of this type of sitting cushions is not hygienic particularly in the wet spaces and the use thereof is not preferred due to the difficulty in cleaning the same.

Another solution developed according to the state of the art is disclosed in the patent no. 2007/03325. The patent entitled "heating system for bidet water and toilet seat" may be mentioned as an example of the state of the art. With this invention provided herein as an example, it is aimed to use the existing central heating installation in heating the water flowing from the bidet tap and the toilet seat in a European-style toilet, wherein the bidet water and the toilet seat are attempted to be heated by way of connection of the pipe coils of the seat portion of the toilet cover to said existing installation. Since the use of the system mentioned in this attempt necessitates the installation of the central heating components in the space were the toilet is located, it is not a system that would be possible to employ in every environment.

Another alternative method according to the state of the art is the manufacture of the toilet seats from the materials with low thermal conductivity coefficient. However, this method also isn't preferred, since the materials possible to use are limited and the method requires intervention in the production method and material of manufacture. Another solution of the state of the art involves manufacturing the toilet seat in two pieces and providing the heating by way of positioning heating coils on the lower piece of the seat.

Another method employed to solve the existing problem of the state of the art is to coat the toilet seats with coating materials. Owing to the coating applied, the user will not perceive cold and will not be disturbed when they sit on the seat. However, application of a coating on the product increases both the material and labor requirements.

The toilet seat according to the invention, which is possible to heat and which will not thus lead to any sense of cold in the users, has been developed for solving the above-mentioned problem and eliminating the disadvantages caused by the existing solutions.

Object of the Invention

An object of the invention is to develop a toilet seat, which will not cause any sensation of cold in the users and the surface temperature of which will be adjustable by the users, said toilet seat not requiring the use of any extra coating on the surface thereof.

Another object of the invention is to develop a toilet seat, which will not cause any sensation of cold in the users and the surface temperature of which will be adjustable by the users, said toilet seat involving no change in the manufacturing material thereof.

Another object of the invention is to develop a toilet seat, the surface of which will be perceived to be warm by the users and the surface temperature of which will be adjustable by the users, said toilet seat not requiring the use of any hot water installation.

Detailed Description of the Invention

The subject of the invention relates to a toilet seat with heating feature.

The seat (1) developed within the scope of the invention is manufactured as a monolithic product. The seat (1) comprises at least one heater element (A) positioned thereon and at least one slot in which said heater element (A) is to be positioned.

In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the slots positioned on the seat (1) are in the form of holes (la). In this embodiment, said heater element (A) comprises the resistance rods (5) preferably positioned on a conduction member (6). Said conduction member (6) is coated with a coating (2) obtained from an elastomeric material. The resistance rods (5) comprised by the said heater element (A) are positioned into the holes (la) on the seat (1). At least one socket (3) is positioned in the end portion of the conduction member (6), on which the resistance rods (5) are positioned, said end portion protruding from the slot on the seat (1) and said socket (3) enabling the connection of said heater element (A) with at least one power supply.

In another alternative embodiment of the invention, the slots positioned on the seat (1) are in the form of channels (lb). In this embodiment, said heater element (A) comprises the resistance cards (4) preferably positioned on a conduction member (6). Said conduction member (6) is coated with a coating (2) obtained from an elastomeric material. The resistance cards (4) comprised by said heater element (A) are positioned into the channels (lb) on the seat (1). At least one socket (3) is positioned in the end portion of the conduction member (6), on which the resistance cards (4) are positioned, said end portion protruding from the slot on the seat (1) and said socket (3) enabling the connection of said heater element (A) with at least one power supply. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, at least one control member enabling to set a desired temperature value is positioned on said seat (1).

A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises at least one control unit controlling the termination of the heating process once the seat (1) has a reached a predetermined temperature value.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, said conduction member (6) is preferably a cable.

The seat (1) developed within the scope of the invention may be heated, by means of the heater element (A) positioned on said seat (1), until reaching the desired temperature value set by the user; consequently, the problem caused in the state of the art by the coldness of said seat (1) is eliminated.
