Abstract:
The present invention relates to tomatoes containing high levels of a vitamin D3 precursor, prepared by using gene-editing technology, and a preparation method therefor. Specifically, it has been confirmed that tomatoes having the DWF5-1 gene deleted accumulate high levels of 7-dehydrocholesterol and that seeds can be produced therefrom. Thus, tomatoes produced in such a way may contain high levels of the vitamin D3 precursor and have a high commercial applicability.
