Abstract:
This tonearm unit (12) is provided with an arm member (26) for attaching a cartridge (30) to the tip end part thereof, and a raising/lowering mechanism (16) for raising and lowering the arm member (26) along an axis relative to a record disk (4). The raising/lowering mechanism (16) has: a cam base (36) that supports the arm member (26); a ring cam (40) provided to the cam base (36) in a manner that allows revolving around the axis; a first guide part (48) formed on the cam base (36) and extending obliquely along the revolving direction of the ring cam (40); and a second guide part (56) formed on the ring cam (40) and extending obliquely along the revolving direction so as to face the first guide part (48). When the ring cam (40) revolves with respect to the cam base (36), the second guide part (56) slides along the first guide part (48), whereby the cam base (36) is raised or lowered with respect to the ring cam (40).
