Abstract:
A tool holder (1) comprises: an input shaft (2); an outer ring member (3) which rotates together with the input shaft (2); and an output member (4) which is supported by the outer ring member (3) in a state in which the output member (4) is movable in the axial direction (X) of the input shaft (2) and rotates integrally with the outer ring member (3). The tool holder (1) further comprises a brake mechanism (50) which reduces the rotation speed of the outer ring member (3) to be lower than the rotation speed of the input shaft (2) when the input shaft (2) and the outer ring member (3) rotate together; and a linear reciprocating motion imparting mechanism (8) which imparts a linear reciprocating motion in the axial direction X to the output member (4) rotating together with the outer ring member (3) when the rotation speed of the outer ring member (3) is lower than the rotation speed of the input shaft (2) and the input shaft (2) and the output shaft (4) rotate relatively to each other.
