Abstract:
A tool life prediction method related to the present invention may comprise the steps of: performing cutting on a target tool including a rake surface and a clearance surface, under a specific test condition; obtaining 3-dimensional shape data including the rake surface and the clearance surface, for the target tool on which the cutting is performed; calculating an abrasion amount through a difference between a first cross section profile corresponding to the 3-dimensional shape data and a second cross section profile corresponding to shape data before processing; obtaining an unmeasurable value from a tool abrasion amount calculation formula through simulation; deriving a plurality of constant values included in the tool abrasion amount calculation formula, on the basis of a value obtained through the simulation and the abrasion amount; and predicting an abrasion amount of a tool by using the derived constant values.
