Abstract:
A tool holder (10), comprising a housing (16) with one end side fixed to a shank part (12) and the other end attached to a tool (14) such as a boring bar, a driving mechanism (18) providing a rotating force to the shank part (12) around the axis and along the axial direction, and a rotating force converting mechanism (20) capable of positioning the tool (14) in the radial direction of the shank part (12) by converting the rotating force into that in one linear direction only among the radial directions of the shank part (12), whereby a tool positioning work can be performed automatically with high accuracy.
