Abstract:
A torque converter, comprising a pump having a pump shell and an impeller, a turbine having a turbine shell and a runner, a stator disposed between the pump and the turbine and supported on a housing, and a working fluid filled in the pump and the turbine. A transmission torque limiting means limiting transmission torque so that the transmission torque transmitted to the stator does not increase beyond a specified value is disposed between the stator and the housing.
