Abstract:
A torque converter (1) enabling the simple structure of a lockup device, wherein the outer peripheral edge of the torsion springs (52) of the lock up device is positioned on the inner peripheral side of the inner peripheral edge of a fluid operating chamber (3). The lockup device (4) comprises a piston (41) connectable to a front cover (21), the torsion springs (52), a drive member (50) fixed to the piston and driving the torsion springs (52), and a driven member (51) fixed to a turbine shell (20) and driven by the torsion springs (52).
