Abstract:
This torsional damper is provided with a hub in which a boss, for being fixed to a rotational shaft such as an engine crankshaft, and an annular rim are provided unitarily via a plurality of stays. An annular vibration ring is coupled to an outer circumferential surface of the rim via an elastic body. The stays have a circumferential width dimension that does not exceed one-quarter of the length of the wavelength for the axial resonance frequency of the hub, and are thickened within a range in which the axial thickness dimension does not exceed one-half of the length of the wavelength for the axial resonance frequency of the hub. Thickening of the stays is realized, for example, by setting the axial thickness dimension to be at least one-quarter of the length of the wavelength for the axial resonance frequency of the hub. The stays have an axially inclined shape.
