Abstract:
This touch panel 5 comprises: a plurality of first electrodes 22 that are arranged parallel to each other in locations that corresponds to a view area of a panel member 10 and change capacity in accordance with the approach/separation of a detected object; a plurality of second electrodes 32 that are arranged parallel to each other, cross the plurality of first electrodes 22, and change capacity in the same manner as the first electrodes 22; a plurality of third electrodes 42 that are arranged parallel to each other between the plurality of first electrodes 22 or the plurality of second electrodes 32 and change electrical resistance in accordance with posture changes and temperature changes; and a plurality of fourth electrodes 82 that are arranged to extend, respectively, along the plurality of third electrodes 42 and change electrical resistance in the same manner as the third electrodes 42. The rate at which the resistance of the fourth electrodes 82 changes due to temperature changes is the same as the rate for the third electrodes 42, but the rate at which the resistance changes due to posture changes is no more than 90% of the rate for the third electrodes 42. This makes it possible to accurately measure pressing force. The third electrodes 42 and fourth electrodes 82 may be arranged in locations that correspond to a peripheral area that is outside the view area.
