Abstract:
This towing assistant device is provided with an acquiring unit, a monitoring unit, and an informing unit. The acquiring unit acquires a connection angle between a towing vehicle and a towed vehicle towed by the towing vehicle, and the current steering angle of the towing vehicle. When the towing vehicle is moved in reverse at the current steering angle, the monitoring unit determines whether or not the towed vehicle can be moved in reverse in a balanced state maintaining the connection angle, and monitors whether or not handling of the towing vehicle continues in the balanced state. The informing unit informs whether or not the balanced state persists and informs whether or not the monitoring continues to occur.
