Abstract:
The present invention comprises, on a train, in order to achieve a train control system which determines whether a decrease in performance of a sensor for obstacle detection is temporary and hence is permissible in terms of assurance of safety of train travel or is not negligible in terms of the safety, to thereby enable the assurance of the safety and stable operation, one or more sensors and an onboard control device which includes a database in which weights set for each of one or more ground installation objects with respect to the easiness of detection are recorded, said ground installation objects existing along a travel line of the train and identified by a type and the position thereof. The sensors detect the ground installation objects. The onboard control device collates the ground installation objects detected by the sensors and the ground installation objects recorded in the database with each other, determines, as undetected ground installation objects, ground installation objects which exist in the database and which cannot be detected by the sensors, calculates the weights of these undetected ground installation objects on the basis of the information in the database, and determines a sensor abnormality occurs when the calculated weight at the time when the number of the undetected ground installation objects is one or the sum of the calculated weights at the time when the number of the undetected ground installation objects is two or more is higher than or equal to a predetermined value.
