Abstract:
The present invention pertains to the medical techniques used in orthopedics and traumatology for treating various congenital or acquired affections and defects in long tubular bones. This invention more precisely relates to external-fixation osteosynthesis devices. The trans-osseous device of the present invention comprises a plurality of bone fixation members (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) which are made in the shape of spokes (4, 5, 6, 7) or rods with screws (8, 9) and which are connected by pairs on each of the ring-shaped (1, 2) or arc-shaped (3) supports. The latter are connected in series by connection units (10, 123, 14, 14a) so as to be capable of displacement with each other. Each connection unit comprises a position arrester (12, 22, 40) in the form of a support member (45) that comprises a spring-loaded slide bar (50) and which is connected to an insert (46) having flutes (48) formed on its inner surface. One at least of the tubes (15) of the connection units has a curved shape.
