Abstract:
In order to provide a novel transformant and a terpenoid production method using the transformant, which enable the production of a desired terpenoid, a transformant of the present invention is obtained by transferring, into a microorganism belonging to the genus Rhodotorula, an enzyme that biosynthesizes the terpenoid or a gene that codes for an enzyme taking the terpenoid as a substrate, said transferred enzyme or gene being derived from a biological species that is different from that of the microorganism.
