Abstract:
An outer-loop transmission power control is periodically performed, thereby avoiding the degradation of radio quality that would otherwise be caused by interruptions of transmission of upstream user data. A transmission power control method comprises a step in which a radio network control station (RNC) decides a transmission period and notifies it to a mobile station (UE); a step in which if having no upstream user data to be transmitted via a data channel, the mobile station (UE) transmits an outer-loop control signal via the data channel at intervals of the transmission period; a step in which a radio base station (NodeB) determines the reception quality of the data channel and notifies a result of the determination to the radio network control station (RNC); a step in which the radio network control station (RNC) decides, based on the result of the determination, a transmission power offset in the data channel and notifies it to the mobile station (UE); and a step in which the mobile station (UE) uses the transmission power offset to control the transmission power of the upstream user data to be transmitted via the data channel.
