Abstract:

Provided is an authentication technology which is far safer than common technologies employing one-time passwords. A client and a server both have a functionality for generating the same solution under the same conditions. The client creates a first 20-character mixed alphanumeric solution (S1002), generates a partial solution in which part of the solution has been extracted in accordance with certain rules (S1003), and transmits the partial solution to the server together with identifying information, i.e. a user ID (S1004). The server receives said solution and information (S2001), generates a solution (S2002), and generates a partial solution (S2003). If the partial solution generated by the server matches the partial solution received from the client, the client is authenticated as being legitimate.
