Abstract:
A transmission system is provided with: transmission cables (2a, 3a) which have a shield part (23a) disposed in one direction, and a shield part (33a) disposed alongside the shield part (23a) in the one direction and having one grounded end, respectively; a receiver (1a) to which one end of each of the transmission cables (2a, 3a) is connected; a conducting wire (5a) which short-circuits the shield part (23a) and the shield part (33a) at the other end; a plurality of equalizer circuits (13a) which have frequency characteristics different from each other and perform compensation for the frequency characteristics on a signal transmitted to the receiver (1a) through the transmission cable (2a); a switch (14a) which is able to switch the equalizer circuit (13a) to be operated; a resistance value monitoring circuit (15a) which monitors the resistance values of the shield parts (23a, 33a) by passing a direct current through one end of the shield part (23a); and a selector circuit (16a) which controls the switch (14a) on the basis of the result of the monitoring by the resistance value monitoring circuit (15a).
