Abstract:
[Problem] To enable the brightness level adjustment of subtitles to be satisfactorily performed on the receiving side. [Solution] In the present invention, a video stream having image data is generated by a video encoder. A subtitle stream having subtitle information is generated by a subtitle encoder. Brightness level adjustment information for adjusting the brightness level of the subtitles is inserted into the video stream and/or the subtitle stream by an adjustment information insertion unit. A container in a predetermined format includes the video stream and the subtitle stream and is transmitted by a transmitting unit.
