Abstract:

A transport apparatus comprises: a client signal transmission/reception unit for transmitting/receiving a client signal; a line signal transmission/reception unit for electricity/photo converting a line signal to be transmitted, thereby transmitting an optical line signal and for photo/electricity converting a received line signal, thereby outputting an electric line signal; and a plurality of signal processing units each for performing a signal processing of the client signal, thereby generating the line signal to be transmitted and for performing a signal processing of the electric line signal, thereby generating the client signal. Each of the plurality of signal processing units includes a signal transmission/reception unit for transferring, to another signal processing unit, a branch signal obtained by branching the signal to be transmitted and a merge signal obtained by merging received signals. The signal transmission/reception unit of each of the plurality of signal processing units is coupled to the signal transmission/reception unit of the other signal processing unit via an inter-chip wiring.
