Abstract:
A transport device 10 transports a plurality of trays 70, 80 of different types on which articles 90 can be placed. The transport device 10 comprises a tray identification sensor 35 that identifies the types of the trays 70, 80, and a protrusion detection sensor 38, 39, 40, 41 that detects articles 90 that are placed protruding from the trays 70, 80. The tray identification sensor 35 identifies the types of trays 70, 80 by detecting the characteristics of the trays 70, 80. The protrusion detection sensor 38, 39, 40, 41 detects the articles 90 according to the types of the trays 70, 80 identified by the tray identification sensor 35.
