Abstract:

A transportation direction switching device (10) provided with a plurality of blades (12L-1 to 14R-3) that are supported by a shaft (11) and that switch the direction of transportation of a paper sheet (2) transported along a transportation path (7a) to a prescribed direction heading towards a loading/unloading part (20), for loading/unloading the paper sheet (2), of a housing part (5) for winding the paper sheet (2) along with belt-shaped bodies (28, 29) around a drum (5D) and housing the paper sheet (2). The plurality of blades (12L-1 to 14R-3) includes a first blade group (12L-1 to 13R-2), which is pivotally supported near the center of the shaft (11) and which faces the loading/unloading part (20), and second blade groups (14L-1 to 14L-3, 14R-1 to 14R-3) pivotally supported farther on the outer side of the shaft (11). The blades in the second blade groups (14L-1 to 14L-3, 14R-1 to 14R-3) are formed so that the height of each of the blades in the prescribed direction with respect to the transportation path (7a) decreases as the position at which the blade is pivotally supported becomes farther towards the outer side of the shaft (11).
