Since a spring-driven traveling toy loses its playing attractiveness in a short time, provided is a traveling toy that is more elaborate and maintains its attractiveness by adding fun by change and a game element. A toy is provided with a traveling vehicle body (105) which is driven by a spring and travels, a catcher part (200) which is rotatably provided on the front side of the traveling vehicle body (105), an elastic member which biases the catcher part (200) in a rotation direction, a collision part (173) which is provided on the front side of the traveling vehicle body, and a hook body (178) which moves in conjunction with the movement of the collision part (173), the toy having a configuration in which the catcher part (200) is engaged with the hook body (178) while being biased in the rotation direction, when the traveling vehicle body is caused to travel forward toward a target (250) by inertia and comes into contact with the target (250), the catcher part (200) is rotationally released in front of the traveling vehicle body (105), backward traveling is performed by the force of the spring, and thereby the backward traveling is performed while the target (250) is being pulled closer by the catcher part (200).
