Abstract:
A traverser comprises: a base unit including a rail member; a mobile unit that moves back and forth along the rail member between a first position and a second position; and a transport unit that is mounted on the mobile unit and transports an object to be transported. The mobile unit includes a first travel roller which is a drive roller, and a drive mechanism that imparts rotational driving force on the first travel roller. The drive mechanism includes a travel motor that supplies the rotational driving force, and a friction transmission mechanism that transmits the rotational driving force from the travel motor to the first travel roller using friction.
