Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a treatment agent for synthetic fiber filaments which suppresses the formation of fluff and fibrils in processes for weaving synthetic fiber filaments, while also imparting a superior finish to a base fabric obtained by weaving the synthetic fiber filaments. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide synthetic fiber filaments treated with the treatment agent, and a base fabric obtained by weaving the synthetic fiber filaments. It was discovered that the formation of fluff and fibrils is suppressed and a superior finish is imparted by using a treatment agent for synthetic fiber filaments which includes, as essential components, (A) at least one ester compound selected from the group consisting of (A1) ester compounds that are condensates of dicarboxylic acid and a polyhydric alcohol ester of a polyoxyalkylene-containing hydroxy fatty acid and (A2) ester compounds obtained by blocking one or more of the hydroxy groups in the condensates with a fatty acid ester, and (B) an ether-ester compound, wherein (A) and (B) are present in specific proportions and at a specific total mass ratio.
