Abstract:
A trenching device for underwater cable laying and an underwater cable laying method. The trenching device comprises a trencher (14) and a coulter assembly provided at the tail of the trencher (14). The coulter assembly comprises a base (2) connected to the trencher (14), a support (6) provided on the base (2), and jet coulters (1) provided on the support (6) by means of a driving assembly; the base (2) is provided with a rotating base (3), and the support (6) is rotatably provided on the rotating base (3). The device further comprises a driving member (8) for driving the support (6) to rotate along the rotating base (3), and a locking structure for controlling the support (6) and the base (2) to freely rotate or be locked.
