Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a signal configuring a network configured maximum retransmission threshold that identifies a maximum number of retransmissions of a protocol data unit (PDU) that can occur before a radio link failure (RLF) is triggered. The UE may select a UE configured accumulated retransmission threshold for one or more PDUs of a multi-PDU transmission, the UE configured accumulated retransmission threshold is dynamic and identifies a maximum number of retransmissions of the one or more PDUs that can occur before the RLF is triggered. The UE may determine, during the multi-PDU transmission, that the maximum number of retransmissions identified by the UE configured accumulated retransmission threshold have occurred for the one or more PDUs of the multi-PDU transmission without corresponding feedback messages being received. The UE may trigger a RLF recovery procedure.
