Abstract:
A tubular lead battery (1) comprising a plate group (2) where a stripe negative plate (4) provided, at one end side in the width direction, with a plurality of negative electrode side lugs (4a to 4e), and a stripe positive plate (5) provided, at one end side in the width direction, with a plurality of positive electrode side lugs (5a to 5e) are wound spirally so as to overlap via a separator, and a negative electrode side strap (11) and a positive electrode side strap (12) arranged on one axial end side of the plate group and connected, respectively, with the plurality of negative electrode side lugs and the plurality of positive electrode side lugs, wherein an incompletely welded portion is prevented from being formed at the joint of each strap and lug. The plurality of negative electrode side lugs and the plurality of positive electrode side lugs being arranged sequentially from he radial inside toward outside of the plate group are shifted, in position, alternately to the different sides in the circumferential direction of the plate group so that they are not aligned along the radial direction of the plate group.
