Abstract:
In the present invention, an ultrasonic diagnostic device and an ultrasonic diagnostic device control method are such that an ultrasonic image generation unit generates an ultrasonic image from reception signals obtained using an ultrasonic probe to transmit and receive ultrasonic beams to and from an examination location of a to-be-examined body, and an optical camera generates an optical image by imaging the to-be-examined body including the ultrasonic probe during examination of the examination location. A probe recognition unit recognizes the ultrasonic probe from the optical image, and if the ultrasonic probe has been recognized, a trimming unit trims a region, which includes the ultrasonic probe, from the optical image, thereby generating a trimmed image. Furthermore, a display control unit causes the ultrasonic image and the trimmed image to be displayed on a monitor. As a result, an optical image showing the position and orientation of the ultrasonic probe during examination of the examination location can be enlarged and displayed on the monitor.
