Abstract:

The ultrasonic probe according to the present invention is provided with an acoustic matching layer that adjusts the acoustic impedance of sound waves and forms a tube wherein both edges of a sheet member are bonded to one another with an adhesive, a plurality of piezoelectric elements disposed along the circumferential direction on the inner circumference surface side of the acoustic matching layer that emit ultrasonic waves in accordance with electric signal input and convert ultrasonic waves incoming from the outside into echo signals, and a structural member that forms a hollow disk provided on at least one edge side of the acoustic matching layer in the lengthwise direction orthogonal to the surface formed in the circumferential direction and wherein at least a portion of an outer surface is fixed to the interior of the acoustic matching layer, wherein the structural member is provided in a region that is a portion of the outer surface and that includes, in a radial direction, a gap formed by the edges of the acoustic matching layer in the circumferential direction and comprises a water repellent part that has water repellency.
