Abstract:
An ultrasonic sensor (1) is provided with the following: a closed-bottom tubular-shaped case (2) having bottom plate (2B) and a lateral wall (2A); a piezoelectric element (3), disposed on the bottom plate (2B) in the case (2); pin terminals (11A, 11B) configured so that one end of the terminals is disposed in the opening of the case (2) and the other end is disposed outside of the case (2); a belt-shaped flexible circuit board (9) comprising a first edge connected to one end of the pin terminals (11A, 11B), and a second edge connected to the piezoelectric element (3); and a vibration damping material (8) that seals, within the case (2), one end of the pin terminals (11A, 11B) and the flexible circuit board (9). The flexible circuit board (9) is disposed in the opening of the case (2) in a bent shape so that the first edge extends in the same direction as one end of the pin terminals (11A, 11B) and the flexible circuit board bends from the first edge and extends toward a lateral wall (2A) of the case (2) terminating in the second edge.
