Abstract:
A living body is irradiated with ultrasonic waves to decompose fats in the living body. In a low frequency range of from 15 to 50 kHz, the irradiation acoustic power surface density is higher than 10 mW/cm?2¿ not causing hemolysis in the living body; in a low frequency range of from 50 to 140 kHz, the irradiation acoustic power surface density is higher than 4 mW/cm?2¿ not causing hemolysis in the living body or within the safety standard value based on the mechanical index MI. In a high frequency range of from 180 to 700 kHz, the irradiation acoustic power surface density is higher than 10 mW/cm?2¿ or meets the safety standard value based on the MI; in a high frequency range of from 700 kHz to 1.3 MHz, the irradiation acoustic power surface density is higher than 800 mW/cm?2¿ or meets the safety standard value based on the MI.
