Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an underrun protector with increased strength. [Solution] This underrun protector 1, provided in a rear section of a vehicle, comprises an inner-side member 2, an outer-side member 3, and a connecting section 4. The inner-side member 2 comprises: an inner-surface section 21 that extends in a vehicle-width direction and a vehicle-height direction D3; a horizontal-surface section 22 that extends rearward from at least one end, on one side of the vehicle-height direction D3, of the inner-surface section 21; and a vertically extending section 23 that extends from the rear end of the horizontal surface section 22 at least toward another side of the vehicle-height direction D3. The outer-side member 3 comprises: an outer-surface section 31 that extends in the vehicle-width direction and the vehicle-height direction D3 and is disposed rearward of the vertically extending section 23; and a horizontally extending section 32 that extends forward from one end, on the one side of the vehicle-height direction D3, of the outer-surface section 31 and overlaps the outer side, in the vehicle-height direction D3, of the horizontal-surface section 22. Another end, on the other side of the vehicle-height direction D3, of the outer-surface section 31 is connected to the other end, on the other side of the other vehicle-height direction D3, of the inner-surface section 21. The connecting section 4 connects the horizontal-surface section 22 and the horizontally extending section 32 which mutually overlap, to each other.
