Abstract:
The disclosed system and method reliably identifies multiple positioning targets underwater using a simple configuration. Provided is an underwater positioning system that can reliably identify multiple underwater positioning targets (2A-2N) using a simple configuration by acquiring agreeing detection signals (S14R, S14L), which are acquired from the transmission of ultrasonic identification data (SA-SN) generated from each of multiple ultrasonic transmitting devices (5), which are provided to the multiple underwater positioning targets (2A-2N), by a pseudo-noise signal (S3) that includes signal line (C1-C24) identification data with a logical code sequence of a designated bit number, and cross-correlating a cross-correlation standard signal (S13) and ultrasonic identification data (SA-SN) received at a central positioning device (6).
