Abstract:
Provided are: a unidirectional reinforcing fiber prepreg in which a unidirectional fiber base material having reinforcing fibers aligned in one direction is impregnated with a matrix resin, wherein the tensile modulus of the reinforcing fibers is within the range of 70 GPa to 790 GPa, the fiber basis weight is within the range of 5 g/m2 to 80 g/m2, the matrix resin is a thermoplastic resin, the residual volatile fraction in the matrix resin is 2.0 mass% or less, the width of the unidirectional reinforcing fiber prepreg is within the range of 250 mm to 1150 mm, the coefficient of variation of the fiber basis weight per unit area measured using a piece cut to 50 mm wide × 100 mm long relative to the total width of the unidirectional reinforcing fiber prepreg is no greater than 6%, and the matrix resin content relative to the unidirectional reinforcing fiber prepreg as a whole is within the range of 20 mass% to 60 mass%; and a use of the unidirectional reinforcing fiber prepreg.
