Abstract:
The present invention relates to production of 0° unidirectional yarn prepreg in which high-strength filaments are arranged in parallel along the axial direction (X) of a winding roller around which unidirectional yarn prepreg is wound and resin is impregnated, the 0° unidirectional yarn prepreg being produced by performing: (i) a step of weaving fabric using thermoplastic film tapes as warps and using the high-strength filaments as wefts; and (ii) a step of thermally compressing the woven fabric at a temperature where the warps are melted. In addition, the present invention relates to production of a multiaxial prepreg composite material, the multiaxial prepreg composite material being produced by simultaneously and continuously supplying a thermal compression roller (2) with the 0° unidirectional yarn prepreg (A) produced by the afore-mentioned method and 90° unidirectional yarn prepreg (B) produced by a conventional warping method, and performing thermal compression. The present invention can continuously produce, with a simpler process, a multiaxial prepreg composite material (C) in which (i) at least two sheets of unidirectional yarn prepreg are stacked, and (ii) the direction in which high-strength filaments of one sheet of unidirectional yarn prepreg, from among two sheets of unidirectional yarn prepreg which are stacked to be adjacent to each other, are oriented forms an inclination angle of 90° from the direction in which high-strength filaments of the other one sheet of unidirectional yarn prepreg are oriented. Thus, the present invention improves productivity and reduces production costs.
